National Account Manager – Chemical Raw Materials

Our client, a growing international business specialising in the supply of chemical raw materials across a range of industries, is currently searching for a National Account Manager to join the team on a permanent basis.  Within this role you will manage and grow key accounts while identifying new business opportunities across the UK and Europe.

The role will suit an individual who enjoys a combination of both account management and business development, with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proactive approach to customer engagement.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage and develop relationships with key national accounts
• Identify and win new business opportunities within target markets
• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply agreements
• Attend customer meetings, site visits, and industry exhibitions across the UK & EU
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing movements
• Work closely with internal teams (procurement, logistics, operations) to ensure smooth delivery
• Maintain accurate CRM records and reporting – SAGE 200

Required Experience and Skills:

• Strong account management and relationship-building skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a positive and proactive approach
• Proven ability to develop sales strategies and drive revenue growth
• Experience managing and mentoring team members
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• 5–7 years’ experience in Sales/ chemical B2B sales (raw materials)

Desirable Experience:

• Industry knowledge or training in REACH, ISO, or similar

Working Conditions:

• 9 hour working day (including 1-hour lunch break)
• Based at the Stockport Head Office
• Reporting to the Managing Director (MD) and Senior Business Development Manager (BDM)
• Regular travel across the UK & Europe (customers, exhibitions)
• Occasional visits to suppliers, warehouses, and distribution centres
• Full UK driving licence preferred
